Title: IMS Pro upgrades
Post by: Digitalupload on November 04, 2007, 08:07:26 am

I own three copies of the IMS Pro script from when Alex was selling them over the past few years. You new users are lucky, I paid $199/each for mine! haha. Do you plan to upgrade the script or continue on with the development of the system?

For those of you who have not purchased IMS Pro and are usnure if you should or not, I can tell you I have been running the script for years with maybe one or two issues per year. Those issues are usually due to myself messing with something I shouldn't have! The code was written very well. It's not the most upgrade friendly code, but it is very clean.

Anyway, bottom line is I have put well over a thousand dollars into this script over the years and it is time for an overhaul for me. I am just curious if you plan to continue the development of this script or not. That will make my decision of keeping with this script or starting over. Thanks for your time,

Yes there will be updates to the script. Supporting new file types. More options and features. Have done a lot of work with photo galleries and always like new ideas on what to add or improve on.

Are you planning any of these upgrades in the near future? I have had some of the script recoded for added file types. I would be more than happy to work with you. You can contact me if interested. So far I have...

1.) Added file types. The way the stock script is, you have to edit like 5 or 6 files, it has been replaced so you only need to edit one file.
2.) You can now add advertisements in a users account (free accounts). This new feature if different from the settings_html.php file.
3.) Email activation when a new user signs up.
4.) You can now enter a max filesize (10mb, 20mb, whatever) rather than selection from the drop down box.
5.) Create an image gallery like ebay does.

I have done more than that, but those are some of the main ones. All of the above features can be set in the admin panel when you create a plan. They use the little checkboxes just like it does now for the photo album.

You still planning on upgrading the IMS Pro script? It has been about 4 years since we wrote the above posts and unless I missed something, doesn't look like anything has changed. If your not planning on developing it further, would you be interested in selling the script and all rights to it? The reason I ask is you know from 4 years ago, I put a lot of money into the script paying programmers to add features and change some things to make the script a little more upgrade friendly.

I would rather sell the script with all my updates but I could also sell current users of the script the upgrade files I have. Two more major changes I have added is you can specify unlimited number of file types to add, so its not just an image hosting script anymore. Once I did that I had a large influx of users and files so I had no choice but to have a multi server option coded in. Now you can add unlimited number of slave file servers from within the admin panel. Click add new server, put in the details and its up and running. All details are still kept in the database but the physical file is stored on any number of the slave servers. You can activate or deactivate them at any time.

Let me know your thoughts. If your not interested in selling the rights to the script, maybe you would be interested in purchasing some of my upgrades so I can turn around and put that money back into the script in new features. Hope to hear from you. Thanks,
